My dear friend, Lauren, who lives across our Pond, in the States, asked for a picture of my hopes, dreams and wishes earrings. Thank you, Lauren, for sparking the theme for this post.
Over the years, I have had many ideas, and some have found their way onto the drawing board and into actual plans, which went on to become something real. Many have not worked, but some have. I refuse to look at all the hours spent creating as lost, as I believe that nothing is ever wasted. Each experience has value, and each time we have the gift of starting again, with a little bit of added wisdom.
In the 1920s, a journalist asked Thomas Edison how it felt to fail 1000 times in his attempt to invent the incandescent lightbulb. He replied, ‘I didn't fail 1000 times. The lightbulb was an invention with 1000 steps.’
Tim is a great sounding board and the voice of reason, as some of my ideas are way out there. I can read his facial expressions like a book, and we always end up laughing at some of my more ludicrous suggestions. But then, they spark inspiration, and other ideas show themselves.
Without hope, we are lost, and all our dreams and wishes hold hope.
Dreams are our path to the future, just waiting for us to see them.

Like your favourite mug waiting for you to make your next hot drink.
Your bed is waiting for you to climb back in.
Time is open for you to fill.
Seeds sleep waiting to be planted.
Laundry waits to be folded, dried by a breeze.
Books wait to be read.
Dreams are waiting to be discovered.

During times of chaos, we can dream, nurturing hopes and wishes, and then go on to quietly plan, plant, build, make and create. 💛
Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul
and sings the tunes without the words and never stops at all.

What a lovely post, Jane, and thanks for the mention. That was a surprise, and your earrings are gorgeous! I'm glad you shared them. I love the Edison story, and these lines of yours that resonate:
"I refuse to look at all the hours spent creating as lost, as I believe that nothing is ever wasted. Each experience has value, and each time we have the gift of starting again, with a little bit of added wisdom."
Cheers to never letting go of our hopes, dreams, and wishes.
Sending you both love and hugs! 🤗💝
